Waterways
Waterways are shaped channels that are grass-covered and non-erosive. These funnel the surface water to an outlet.

Drainage Ditch
Surface ponding develops when the rate of rainfall exceeds the rate of the soil's absorption. Drainage ditches allow the surface ponding to runoff into the ditch.

Pond Excavation
Ponds can be created to have a place for the excess surface water to drain into. Recreational ponds can also be created for activities such as fishing.

Surface Culverts
Surface culverts are structures that allow water to flow under rather than over an obstruction such as a road or railroad. This diversion prevents the water from contacting the hazardous materials on the road's surface and therefore preventing water contamination.
